Snowshoeing is a great way to explore the mountains. Avoriaz has many great trails taking you into the heart of the wilderness. Trail maps are available at the tourist office.
Most sport shops in town rent "raquettes" or snowshoes for a reasonable price. The Office of Tourism and numerous guiding companies offer daily excursions. Night time snowshoeing excursions are not to be missed when paired with white wine and a delicious Savoyard meal! The Full Moon Trek is always a favourite!
