Avoriaz is as popular with summer hikers as it is with winter skiers. The Chablais region of France has over 380 kilometers of marked trails that are great for mountain walking, hiking and trekking.
Lifts are open in the summer to help hikers and bikers quickly gain altitude. Many trails can be found leaving from the top of the lifts. Always check the weather before leaving and be prepared with lots of water and sunscreen.
The Tourist Office has trail maps of the area and a local guide would be happy to show you some of the favorite hiking destinations in the region.
